The Madison Girls Basketball squad saw their season come to a close on Tuesday night, falling to Wagner 57-35 in first round action of the 5A Region playoffs. After the two sides traded buckets in the first few minutes of the game, the host Red Raiders took control of the contest and led 19-7 after one. The game slowed down in the second quarter with both teams only scoring four points. Wagner would then outscore Madison by 10 points in the second half for the victory. 

Zoey Gerry hit four three’s and finished with 14 points, while Sophia Vanden Bosch hit a pair of three’s and scored 10. Wagner advances to take on McCook Central/Montrose on Thursday in a SoDak 16 qualifier. The Lady Bulldogs ended their season with a 5-16 record and a tip of the cap to the four seniors on the team for their basketball careers at Madison.
