Krusemark and Smith Named 2022 Madison Track & Field MVPs

Senior’s Kylie Krusemark and Trey Smith at Madison High School have been named as the 2022 Track and Field MVP for the Madison Bulldogs, after both athletes had successful seasons. Both Krusemark and Smith went to the SDHSAA Class A State meet and placed high in their events.

Krusemark placed third in the pole vault at the state meet with her school record vault of 10’6. That vault broke her own school record by 2”. Krusemark was also on the 4x200m relay team and 4x100m relay team that ran at the state meet. Her 400 time of 1:11:08 was the second best for the Lady Bulldogs.

Smith meanwhile had himself a successful season also, throwing both shot put and discus at the SDHSAA Class A State Meet. Smith’s shot put at the state meet of 42’11.25” was good enough for 16th place, but it was his discus throw that was more impressive.

Smith’s throw of 146’9 earned him first place in the discus throw at the SDHSAA Class A State Meet, and gave him his new PR (personal record).
