Gerry Scores 1000th Point in DVC Classic

In the Dakota Valley Conference Classic over the weekend, Zoey Gerry for the Madison Girls Basketball team got her 1000th career point in the Bulldogs loss to Dell Rapids St. Mary. 

Gerry was only a few points away from getting her 1000th point, and she was able to get it early in the game on Saturday, scoring it in the first quarter. She finished the game with nine points. 

Despite Gerry scoring her 1000th point, Dell Rapids St. Mary got out to the early lead against Madison in the first quarter, leading 20-10 after the first. 

The Lady Cardinals never trailed in the game, leading 37-17 at halftime, and continuing to score in the second half as well. Despite outscoring the Cardinals 14-12 coming out of halftime, the Bulldogs were not able to come close to coming back, losing 64-43.

Dell Rapids St. Mary led by as much as 27 points in the game.

Along with scoring nine points, Gerry also grabbed eight rebounds for Madison. Audrey Nelson was the lone Bulldog to reach double-digit points, scoring 28 points and going 3-4 from three-point range. 

Ella Griffin had a double-double for DRSM, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Madala Hanson had a team leading 20 points for the Lady Cardinals.
