Bulldogs Season Ends in SODAK 16

The Madison Boys basketball team saw their season come to an end on Tuesday night, with a loss to Hamlin in the SoDak 16. The Bulldogs stayed close to the Chargers in the 1st quarter, despite Hamlin sophomore Easton Neuendorf hitting four 3-pointers in the opening 8 minutes. Madison trailed Hamlin 20-17 at the end of the quarter. 

Hamlin continued their offensive barrage in the 2nd, out scoring the Bulldogs by 10 points, to take a 39-26 lead into halftime. Madison opened the 3rd quarter on an 8-2 run, but then scored just 7 points the rest of the game, as Hamlin rolled into the State A tournament. 

Neuendorf led Hamlin with 17 points. Evan Stromo scored 16 off the bench, and Tyson Stevenson added 14. The Chargers combined to 14 three pointers in the game. 

Madison senior Aiden Jenson scored 18 points with 9 rebounds in the final game of his MHS career. Ben Brooks and Charles Callahan each had 9 points for the Bulldogs. 

Madison’s season ends with a record of 14-9. Hamlin now moves on to the state basketball tournament for the first time in 30 years. The Class A tournament will be held next week at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.Â
