Bulldogs Pick Up Third Straight Win

The Madison Bulldogs baseball team were able to grab the lead late against Sioux Valley, winning their third straight by a final score of 5-3.

After the Cossacks scored the initial run in the top of the second, the Bulldogs answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Sioux Valley came back with another run in the top of the third to tie it at 2-2. 

After a scoreless fourth inning, Sioux Valley scored their final run in the top of the fifth. Madison again answered in the same inning, this time scoring three runs, led off by Braxton Bjorklund’s RBI Double.

The Cossacks were unable to provide an answer, allowing the Bulldogs to get the 5-3 victory.

Bjorklund picked up the win for the Bulldogs, pitching two innings of two-hit ball and no runs. He also struck out three with no walks. At the plate he had two hits and one RBI. Hayden Kane started the game, going five innings and allowing three runs on eight hits along with three strikeouts.

Connor Gross took the loss for the Cossacks, lasting five innings and allowing ten hits and five runs while striking out two and walking none. 

Both teams had ten hits and an error.

Jared Kennington went 3-3 at the plate for the Bulldogs to lead Madison.

The Bulldogs improved to 8-6 with the win, which is now their third straight win. They will play again tomorrow night when they host Miller at 7pm
