Bulldogs Perform Well in Field Events at Dak XII Meet

In the Dak XII Track and Field Conference meet yesterday, the Madison Boys team placed in the top five and the girls finished eighth. 

For the boys, the Bulldogs had three pole vaulters place in the top five, led by Aaron Hawkes first place vault of 14’3. Nathan Hasleton, Nathan finished third with a vault of 11’ and Henry Meyer rounded out the top five with his fifth place vault of 10’. 

Ben Brooks had two top five finishes himself in his field events, with a long jump of 19’9 to earn him fifth and a triple jump of 39’7 for a fourth place finish. 

Parker Johnson placed third in the shot put with a toss of 48’1, and fourth in the discus throw after throwing 129’. 

For the Lady Bulldogs, Audrey Nelson had a first place finish in the high jump with her jump of 5’4. Lydia Nelson also placed first in her field event for the Bulldogs, with a triple jump of 32’3.5.

The Lady Bulldogs had two of the top three finishers in the pole vault, as both Ella and Sophia Pettereins had a vault of 9’. 

Madison’s 4x800m relay team, consisting of Ellie Keller, Ashlyn Rustand, Lou Schladweiler, and Jessie Tappe, placed fifth with their time of 10:50.78.

As a team, the Madison boys team finished the conference meet in fifth, scoring 57 points. Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs placed eighth after registering 47 points. Sioux Falls Christian won for both the boys and girls.
