Bulldogs find familiar foe in West Central for Playoff opener
There was something missing from the Madison Bulldogs football schedule this season. For the first time in years, Madison was not scheduled to play their rivals from West Central. The two teams have played each other almost every year for decades. But with two West River teams on the schedule this season, it seemed the rivalry might have to sit out the season. But with the playoffs here, Madison finds themselves making the familiar trip south to take on the Trojans in the 11A opening round.Â
Madison head coach Joe Bundy says the Trojans on the field tonight will look a lot like West Central teams of the past.Â
Madison has seen its share of injuries this season, but still put together a 6-3 record for their first winning season since winning the championship in 2021.Â
Bundy says the injuries have made the team very adaptable.Â
Tonight’s game begins at 7pm in Hartford. The Edward Jones Pregame show starts at 6:40 tonight on AM 1390, and AmazingMadison.com
