Bulldog Wrestling Beings Season Tonight

The Madison Bulldogs wrestling team will have their first match of the season this evening as they host Milbank. The December slate includes the Flandreau Invite this Saturday and the Watertown Invite next Saturday, a quad at Dell Rapids on the 17th, and hosting the Madison invite on the 21st.

The Bulldogs are coming off one of their best seasons in recent years. After capturing the region championship, Madison had four wrestlers reach the podium at last year’s state tournament, and finished 11th as a team.

Three of the wrestlers who placed last season are back again this year for the Bulldogs. Leading the way is senior Colby Mennis, the all-time wins leader at Madison, finished in 2nd place a 145lbs at state a season ago. Juniors Sam Olson and Truman Stoller, who finished 5th and 7th respectively last year, are also back for the Bulldogs.

Tonights dual against Milbank begins at 6:30pm, at the Madison High School gym.
