Bulldog Varsity Baseball Goes Undefeated Over Weekend

The Bulldogs Baseball team had a busy weekend and went 3-0 on the weekend.

Friday night they traveled to Redfield and came away with a 7-4 victory. Aspen Dahl got the win for the Bulldogs. Dahl surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out six. Lucas Johnson and Lucas Mork entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Sunday the Bulldogs had a double header at Baughman Belatti park.

In the first game the Bulldogs took on Vermillion and got out to a six-run lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 12-11 victory. Peyton Wolf led the Bulldogs to victory on the hill. The pitcher lasted one and one-third innings, allowing zero hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one. Logan Allbee and Lucas Mork entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Mork recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Madison Bulldogs Varsity.

The final game of the doubleheader had the Bulldogs nab the lead late in the game in a 14-4 victory over Huron. The game was tied at 4 with Madison batting in the bottom of the fourth when Aspen Dahl doubled, scoring two runs.

The Bulldogs totaled 12 hits in the game. Aspen Dahl, Logan Allbee, Peyton Wolf and Mason Kennington all managed multiple hits for Madison.

The next action for the Bulldogs will be Friday night when they travel to Miller to take on Miller/Highmore/Harrold.

The Madison Bulldog JV baseball team was also in action over the weekend. They dropped their game to Brookings 11-2 and defeated SF Roosevelt 13-3. The JV squad will be hosting SF Roosevelt in a double header tonight. First pitch at 5pm.
