Participating at the Sacred Hoops Classic in Mitchell on Saturday, Madison Basketball was able to come away with two victories. The girls defeated Custer 34-23 and the boys 55-25 over Lakota Tech.

The Lady Bulldogs held their opponent to single digits in all four quarters, limiting offensive opportunities for Custer. Zoey Gerry hit a couple of big three’s in the first half and finished with a game high 17 points. Madison held a slim three point lead after three quarters, but held the Lady Wildcats to just three points in the final frame, all from the free-throw line. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Madison, who will be back in action on Tuesday at Arlington.

Much like the girls, the Madison Boys also held their opponent to single digits each quarter. Logan Albee sparked the squad, scoring 11 first quarter points and finished with a game high 16. Madison slowly built up their lead throughout the first three quarters, generating multiple chances on the fast break. Dillion Bickett scored 10 points off the bench for Madison, who improved to 4-1 and will be on the road Friday at Tea Area.
