Broncos win 3rd in a row, Mudcats put up 11 in the 4th during Sunday’s Cornbelt games

The Madison Broncos won their third game in a row on Sunday, topping Dell Rapids PBR 4-2 at Flynn Field in Madison. Ty Jorgenson had an RBI double in the 1st inning, and Matt Brupee and Dawson Bakker added RBI’s in the 4th and 5th innings for the Broncos. Trey Smith had two hits and scored twice. Brock Minnaert picked up the win. He allowed just 2 runs on 2 hits, and struck out 3. Conner Spindler had a home run in the loss for PBR. 

 

The Dell Rapids Mudcats stayed undefeated Sunday, with a 15-0 win over the Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks. The Mudcats scored 11 runs in the 4th inning, highlighted by a bases-clearing double from Carter Gullickson, and a three run homer from Ty Hoglund. Kole Zimmerman had a homerun for Dell Rapids as well, as they scored 15 runs on 13 hits and 4 walks. Dalton Lehnon was 3-for-3 with three runs scored. He was also the winning pitcher, after striking out 9 batters over 5 innings. 

 

The Flandreau Blue Teal won their 4th game of the season on Sunday, scoring three late runs for a 6-3 win over the Hartford-Humboldt Wood Ducks. Sam Gassman had 3 hits for Flandreau, including a run and an RBI. Tanner Christenson and Michael Witte each stole two bases for the Blue Teal. Gage Sharping picked up the win, after striking out 10 batters in 6 innings.
