Both Madison 16U VFW teams falter on Sunday

Madison Maroon couldn’t get the offense going Sunday, in a 2-0 loss to West Central in 16U VFW baseball. Madison had 5 hits but couldn’t bring a runner around to score. Anthony Lanham was great on the mound for West Central, striking out 7 over 7 innings. 

Casyn Crabtree took the loss, despite giving up just 2 runs and striking out 7 over 6 innings. Madison Maroon, who won a pair of games Saturday, is not 3-3 on the year. 

Madison Black Falls As Well

A slim early lead could’t hold up for the Madison Black 16U team, in a 3-2 loss to Tri-Valley Sunday. Madison gave up 3 runs on just 3 hits, but committed 4 errors in the field. Braylon Oftedal gave up 3 runs, but only one of them was earned. He also struck out 8 while taking the loss. Madison Black fell to 4-2 on the season.
