Madison Post 25 can’t make lead hold up against Garretson

Madison Post 25 took an early 3-0 lead, but failed to score after the 1st inning in a 5-3 loss to Garretson on Monday. 

Brayden Buthe opened the scoring for Madison, driving in 2 runs with a double. Jack Jankord then knocked in Buthe for the early lead. From there Garretson pitchers Nate Kneebone and Trey Buckenberg shut down Madison, giving up just 4 hits the rest of the way while combining to strike out 9 Madison batters. 

Tyler Tappe took the loss, giving up 4 runs on 2 hits, and 2 walks. He also finished with 6 strikeouts in just 3 innings of work. 

Madison Post 25 is now 3-3, Garretson improved to 3-2. Madison will play two games in Humboldt this Saturday.
