A Madison man will serve time in the state penitentiary for violating the terms of a sentence he had previously received. 19-year-old Tre’Shan McKinney was sentenced in Lake County Circuit Court in February on a burglary charge. On Tuesday, McKinney admitted to violating the terms of his probation as part of that sentence. Circuit Judge Pat Pardy on Tuesday imposed on McKinney the four year penitentiary sentence that he had suspended in February, and gave him credit for 180 days he had previously served.
Judge Pardy also sentenced McKinney on a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the abuse, neglect or delinquency of a minor. The judge ordered a 30-day suspended jail sentence on that charge, along with a fine, court costs, and the re-payment of his court-appointed attorney’s fees.
