A fourth Republican candidate has now entered the race for a seat on the Lake County Commission this year.  The Lake County Auditor’s Office reported on Wednesday that Phillip Wohlers of Madison had filed his nominating petitions.  Wohlers joins three other Republicans in seeking one of three seats up for election on the County Commission. The other Republican candidates who have filed petitions are Adam Leighton of Rutland, and incumbent commissioners Roger Hageman of Ramona and Deb Reinicke of Madison.

One democrat has filed nominating petitions so far in the Lake County Commission election and that’s John Doblar of Madison.  Commissioners all serve four-year terms.

Lake County State’s Attorney Wendy Kloeppner, Treasurer Debra Walburg, and Coroner Mark Rustand, all Republicans, have filed their nominating petitions also for re-election to their offices. These offices also serve four-year terms.

The deadline to file nominating petitions for the June primary election is March 31st.

Petitions for the county office elections must be filed with the county Auditor’s Office.

The deadline for filing nominating petitions to run as an independent candidate in the general election is April 28th. Â
