The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident Saturday afternoon on the eastern side of the county.  Just before 2:15 Saturday afternoon, Sheriff Tim Walburg said an accident was reported on Highway 34 near the intersection with 465th Avenue.  He said that a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Michael Bott of Colman was eastbound on Highway 34 and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Mason Griebel of Madison.

Walburg said Bott’s vehicle was stuck in a snow drift in the roadway and it was struck from behind by Griebel.  Bott was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor and Griebel was driving a 2005 GMC Yukon. Walburg said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The Sheriff said that his office also responded to three other weather-related events over the weekend in which vehicles were stuck in snow drifts in the roadway, but no damage was reported in those incidents. Â
