An additional 13 COVID-19 deaths were reported over the weekend.  The state’s total number of virus-related deaths is now at 1844.  Just less than 250 new COVID-19 cases were reported since Friday.  There are currently more than two-thousand active COVID-19 cases, and 87 people are hospitalized. 

Lake County reported two more positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend, along with five recovered cases.  The county now has 23 active COVID-19 cases.

In our area, Kingsbury County had fifteen active cases as of Sunday, McCook County had 11 and Miner County reported ten active COVID-19 cases.  Moody County reported seven active coronavirus cases Sunday, and Brookings County had 109.

The state reported Sunday that close to 104-thousand residents in the state had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, with more than 49-thousand receiving both doses.  The state Department of Health reported that 15-percent of the state’s population has had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
