Another nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the state over the weekend.  The state Department of Health lists the state’s virus-related death toll at 1888 as of Sunday.  

The state also reported more than 300 new positive COVID-19 cases.  There were 1933 active cases as of Sunday, and 89 people were hospitalized.

Lake County reported six new positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend, and seven recovered cases.  The county had 30 active cases as of yesterday. 

In our area, Kingsbury County reported 16 active coronavirus cases, Moody County had 12, and Miner County-10.  McCook County had 7 active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday, and Brookings County had 58.  

The state Department of Health also reported that 25-percent of the state’s population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 13-percent had received both doses.
