Weekend COVID-19 update: 10 deaths in state; 7 new positive cases in Lake County
The state Department of Health reported ten additional COVID-19 deaths over the weekend. Overall, a total of 1863 people have died with COVID-19. The state reported 286 new positive coronavirus cases over the weekend. Less than two-thousand cases of COVID-19 in the state are active at this time, and 90 people are currently hospitalized.
Lake County reported seven new positive COVID-19 cases since Friday and no new recovered cases. This puts the county’s number of active cases at 26.
McCook and Kingsbury counties’ active cases also increased to 11 and 18 respectively as of Sunday, while Miner County remained at ten and Moody County at nine active COVID-19 cases. Brookings County reported 74 active coronavirus cases as of Sunday.
The state reported on Sunday that 18-percent of the state’s population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while nine percent had received both doses.
