The state Department of Health is reporting two new positive COVID-19 cases in Lake County Wednesday, along with two more recovered cases.  This keeps the number of active cases in the county currently at 21.  Overall, there have been 175 total positive COVID-19 cases in Lake County, with 147 of them recovered and seven deaths.  The state reports that 12 Lake County residents have ever been hospitalized because of the virus.

Overall, statewide new positive COVID-19 cases increased by 445 Wednesday.  Active cases increased to more than 31-hundred in the state, and 192 people are currently hospitalized because of COVID-19.  The state reported no new virus-related deaths Wednesday, so the total number of deaths remains at 202.

Elsewhere in our area, Brookings County remains at 116 active COVID-19 cases Wednesday, McCook County has eighteen, and Moody County currently has fifteen active cases.  Kingsbury County now has twelve active COVID-19 cases and Miner County does not have any at this time.
