The number of COVID-19 deaths in the state increased by one on Wednesday, putting the state’s total number of virus-related deaths at 1962.  The state Department of Health reported 170 new positive COVID-19 cases statewide yesterday, with active cases remaining at just below 18-hundred.  There are currently 103 people hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County reported five new positive COVID-19 cases and four recovered cases Wednesday.  The county now has 24 active cases. 

Elsewhere in the area, Kingsbury County reported 19 active and Moody County had 12 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday.  McCook County had 7 active cases, and Miner County reported two.  Brookings County had 126 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday.
