Nine additional COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the state Wednesday, including one in Lake County and one in Brookings County.  This puts the number of deaths in Lake County at nine and in Brookings County at five, while the overall total number of virus-related deaths in the state is now at 384.

Another sixteen new positive COVID-19 cases have also been reported in Lake County Wednesday.  The state Department of Health reports sixteen new positive and four new recovered cases.  This puts Lake County’s totals at 378 positive COVID-19 cases, 263 recovered, and nine deaths.  There are now 106 active cases in Lake County, and seventeen people have ever been hospitalized because of COVID-19.

Statewide, 1270 new positive COVID-19 cases have been reported Wednesday, with close to 12-thousand active cases and 412 South Dakota residents currently hospitalized. 

In our area, Kingsbury County now has 74 active COVID-19 cases, Moody County has 73, and McCook County has 71 active cases.  Miner County currently has 63 active COVID-19 cases, and Brookings County has 364.
