Another three COVID-19 deaths were reported Wednesday by the state Department of Health, raising the state’s virus related death toll to 1915.  Another 175 new positive COVID-19 cases were also reported.  The number of active coronavirus cases in the state decreased some yesterday to just more than 21-hundred, and there were 68 people hospitalized because of the virus. 

Locally, Lake County reported four new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday, along with four recovered cases.  This kept the number of active cases in the county at 45.

McCook County reported 21 active COVID-19 cases Wednesday, Miner County-13, and Kingsbury County had 12.  Moody County reported three active cases and Brookings County had 80 as of Wednesday.

The state Department of Health also reported that 35-percent of the state’s population have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 20-percent have completed their vaccination series.
