Another nineteen COVID-19 deaths are being reported in the state Wednesday, bringing the state’s total number of virus-related deaths to 1604.  The state Department of Health reports 452 new positive COVID-19 cases, putting the state’s total positive cases at more than 104-thousand.  Currently, the state reports that 4762 of them are active, and 253 people are hospitalized because of the virus. 

Five additional new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported in Lake County Wednesday, along with three recovered cases.  The county now has 49 active cases, and 47 residents have ever been hospitalized because of the virus. 

Other area counties also saw a slight increase in active cases Wednesday.  Kingsbury County reports 37 active COVID-19 cases, McCook and Moody counties each report 28, and Miner County has 25 active cases.  Brookings County reports 231 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday.
