Valley Springs woman sentenced on Lake County drug charge

A 49-year-old Valley Springs woman was sentenced last week in Lake County on a drug charge.  Lori Mohamed had earlier pleaded guilty to one felony count of Unauthorized Ingestion of a Controlled Drug or Substance for ingesting methamphetamines in July of 2021.

Circuit Judge Pat Pardy gave Mohamed a Suspended Execution of Sentence, suspending a three-year state penitentiary sentence.  The judge ordered Mohamed to serve 20 days in the Lake County Jail, with credit for two days already served.  She will also be on probation for three years.  Some of the conditions of Mohamed’s suspended sentence include that she pay a fine and court costs, and reimburse Lake County for the cost of her court appointed attorney’s fees.
