Two seats up for election on Madison City Commission
The Madison City Commission has set the date for its annual city election for 2020. Commissioners on Monday approved setting the election date for April 14th, and will invite the Madison Central School Board to participate also, making it a possible joint election.
There are two seats open on the Madison City Commission this year. The terms of Utilities Commissioner Jeremiah Corbin and Public Works Commissioner Kelly Johnson expire this year. Commissioners serve three-year terms.
City Finance Officer Jennifer Eimers said that nominating petitions for the two commission seats can start being circulated on January 31st. According to the Secretary of State’s website, nominating petitions will then need to be filed by February 28th.
Eimers said that the Madison Central School Board will also have two positions up for election this year, and will follow the same election deadlines as the city.
