The state Department of Health reports one more COVID-19 death Tuesday, bringing the state’s virus-related death toll to 1779.  The state also reports another 116 new positive COVID-19 cases.  There are currently 26-hundred active cases in the state, and 131 people hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County didn’t have any new positive cases to report Tuesday, but did report nine recovered cases.  The number of active COVID-19 cases in Lake County is now at 38, and 51 residents have ever been hospitalized.  

In our area, Miner County reports 22 active COVID-19 cases, Moody County has 19, and Kingsbury County – 18.  McCook County reports seven active cases Tuesday, and Brookings County has 126.  

The state Department of Health also reports Tuesday that more than 71-thousand residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and close to 30-thousand have received both doses.
