The state Department of Health reported 171 new positive COVID-19 cases in the state on Tuesday.  The number of people hospitalized because of the virus increased to 124, while the number of active COVID-19 cases decreased to just less than 21-hundred.  No new virus-related deaths were reported.  

Lake County reported three new positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, along with four recovered cases.  The county currently has 27 active coronavirus cases.

Moody County’s number of active cases increased to ten on Tuesday, while McCook, Kingsbury, and Brookings counties all reported a decrease in active cases.  Miner County remained at two active COVID-19 cases yesterday.    

The number of variant cases in the state also increased Tuesday to 71 – with 61 of them being the B.1.1.7  (or UK) variant.
