Lake County is reporting another four positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, along with four more recovered cases, keeping the number of active cases in the county at 25.  The state Department of Health has classified Lake County as having substantial community spread.  The state determines this status on a weekly basis depending on the number of new positive cases reported in the county over the past week.  Lake County has had six virus-related deaths and six people ever hospitalized because of COVID-19, and there have been 1159 negative tests. 

Statewide, positive COVID-19 cases increased by 193 Tuesday.  The number of hospitalizations in the state also increased to 133 Tuesday, while the number of active cases decreased to under 24-hundred.  No new COVID-19 deaths are being reported Tuesday.

Elsewhere in our area, Brookings County’s number of active coronavirus cases dipped below one-hundred Tuesday to 98.  McCook County currently has sixteen active cases, and Moody County has twelve.  Kingsbury County reports six active COVID-19 cases, and Miner County reports two as of Tuesday.
