Tuesday COVID-19 update: Active cases decrease in Lake County and statewide
Active COVID-19 cases in the state dropped below 12-thousand Tuesday, according to the state Department of Health. 345 new positive cases are being reported by the state Tuesday, and the number of active cases is now at just more than 11-thousand-500. The state also reports two more COVID-19 deaths, bringing the state’s overall total to 1261. There are currently 435 people hospitalized in the state because of the virus.
Locally, Lake County has three more positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, with fourteen recovered cases. This drops Lake County’s active cases at this time below 100, to 96 as of Tuesday. Area counties also are reporting decreases in active cases. Moody County currently has 71 active COVID-19 cases, McCook County has 56, and Kingsbury County has 50 active cases. Miner County now has 22 active coronavirus cases, and Brookings County has 291.
