The state Department of Health reported 142 new positive COVID-19 cases in the state on Tuesday. The number of active cases and people hospitalized statewide increased also yesterday, but no new virus-related deaths were reported. 

Locally, Lake County reported one new positive COVID-19 case and one recovered case so the number of active cases in the county stayed the same Tuesday at 45.  

Elsewhere in the area, McCook County reported 23 active cases, Miner County had 13, and Kingsbury County-12 active COVID-19 cases.  Brookings County reported 77 active, and Moody County decreased to four active coronavirus cases.
