Tuesday COVID-19 update: 122 new positive cases in state; 2 new cases in Lake County
The state Department of Health is not reporting any additional COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, but is reporting 122 new positive cases. The number of active COVID-19 cases has decreased to 2244 as of Tuesday, and 109 people in the state are hospitalized because of the virus.Â
Lake County reports two new positive coronavirus cases, along with eight recovered cases. The county now has 30 active COVID-19 cases. Â
Several area counties now have less than 20 active cases. Miner County reports 16, Kingsbury County has 13, and McCook and Moody counties each have 11 active COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday. Brookings County reports 111 active cases.
Also Tuesday, the state Department of Health reports that more than 86-thousand people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 39-thousand of those have received both doses.
