Just more than a thousand new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported Tuesday in the state.  The state Department of Health reports a total of close to 49-thousand positive COVID-19 cases, with close to 13-thousand-400 of them active at this time and a record number of hospitalizations with 480. Eight additional virus-related deaths are also being reported Tuesday, putting the state’s total number of deaths at 446.  

For Lake County, the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by eleven Tuesday, along with ten recovered cases.  With 464 total positive cases, 320 recovered cases, and nine deaths, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Lake County is now at 135.  

In our area, McCook County reports 119 active cases Tuesday, Kingsbury County has 99, and Moody County reports 75 active cases.  Miner County has 54 active COVID-19 cases, and Brookings County has 357 as of Tuesday.
