Tourism expected to remain good in state this summer

Despite gas prices at more than four-fifty a gallon nationally, surveys continue to show people planning to travel in large numbers this summer.

State Tourism Department Secretary Jim Hagen said they update their marketing almost continually.

Hagen said they are working with tourism operators to help them devise deals to attract travelers.

Hagen said they are also seeing a mixed return on those traveling in RV’s.

Hagen said their tracking so far this season shows both visitation and spending up over last year.
