Lake County’s total number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 79 on Thursday, with the addition of one new positive case.  The state Department of Health reports also that 53 of the county’s cases are recovered and there have been two deaths.  There are currently 24 active COVID-19 cases in Lake County.  The state Department of Health says some of these positive cases are reported in residents and staff at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison, but says the total is less than 25 at this time.

Statewide, 44 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported Thursday, bringing the state’s overall total to 8685.  Of those, 866 are active cases, 44 people are currently hospitalized, and there have been 129 deaths in the state.  

Moody and Brookings counties each reported one additional new positive COVID-19 case on Thursday.  Brookings County currently has seven active cases, while Moody County has four.  McCook County also reports four active coronavirus cases, while Miner and Kingsbury counties each have three active cases.
