Thursday COVID-19 update: One death in state & decrease in active cases
While the number of new positive COVID-19 cases increased by nearly six-hundred Thursday, the state Department of Health reports a decrease in the number of active cases in the state. The total number of active cases is down by just more than two-thousand, to a total of 8756. One more COVID-19 death is being reported in the state Thursday, putting the state’s total number of deaths at 1301. There are 406 people currently hospitalized because of COVID-19. Â
Lake County reports an additional six new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, along with 31 recovered cases. The county currently has 69 active COVID-19 cases, and 41 residents have ever been hospitalized because of the virus.Â
Moody County reports 61 active coronavirus cases, McCook County has 39, and Kingsbury County reports 29 active cases. Miner County has 20 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday, and Brookings County has 241.
