Thursday COVID-19 update: Eight new positive cases in Lake County; 463 positive cases & 8 deaths in state
The state Department of Health is reporting eight more positive COVID-19 cases in Lake County Thursday, as well as three recovered cases. Thursday’s information lists 183 total positive COVID-19 cases in the county, with 150 of them recovered and seven total deaths. This puts the number of active cases in Lake County now at 26. Twelve Lake County residents have ever been hospitalized because of the virus, and there have been 1260 negative tests.
The state reports another record single day increase in new positive COVID-19 cases with 463 reported Thursday. This puts the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state at more than 20-thousand, with close to 33-hundred of them active at this time. The state Department of Health reports eight additional COVID-19 deaths Thursday, bringing the total number of deaths now to 210. There are currently 194 people hospitalized because of the virus.Â
In our area, Brookings County remains with the highest number of active COVID-19 cases, currently at 121. McCook and Moody counties each are reporting 20 active cases as of Thursday, and Kingsbury County has sixteen. There are no active cases reported currently in Miner County.
