Thursday COVID-19 update: 28 new positive cases in Lake County; 2020 new positive cases in state
The number of positive COVID-19 cases continues to climb in Lake County and in the state. In Lake County Thursday, 28 new positive cases are being reported, along with eight recovered cases. The county now has 234 active COVID-19 cases, according to the state Department of Health.
Statewide, a record one-day total of 2019 new positive cases are being reported Thursday. This puts the total number of positive cases in the state at close to 61-thousand, with more than 18-thousand-700 of them active cases at this time. 551 residents are currently hospitalized, and no new deaths are being reported Thursday.
In our area, there are now 177 active COVID-19 cases in McCook County, 133 in Kingsbury County, and 117 active cases in Moody County. Miner County reports 49 active coronavirus cases, and Brookings County has 520.
