COVID-19 numbers in the state continue to climb, as the state Department of Health reports nineteen new virus-related deaths Thursday.  This puts the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 403.  Statewide, another one-thousand positive COVID-19 cases are being reported Thursday, and the number of active cases has reached 12-thousand-462.  413 South Dakota residents are currently hospitalized because of COVID-19.

Lake County reports another eleven positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, and four recovered cases.  This puts the county’s totals at 389 positive cases, 267 recovered, and nine total deaths.  Lake County now has 113 active COVID-19 cases, and 18 people have ever been hospitalized because of the virus.

Elsewhere in our area, McCook County has increased to 83 active cases as of Thursday, and Moody and Kingsbury counties to 77.  Miner County currently has 63 active COVID-19 cases, and Brookings County has 386.
