The state Department of Health is reporting thirteen more COVID-19 deaths in its daily report Thursday, bringing the total number of virus-related deaths in the state to 304.  The state is also reporting nearly 800 new positive COVID-19 cases and a record number of 7132 active cases Thursday.  304 South Dakota residents are currently hospitalized.  

Lake County’s positive COVID-19 cases increased by nine Thursday, to a total of 279.  207 of those cases are recovered, and there have been eight deaths in the county.  This puts the number of active cases in the county as of Thursday at 64.

The number of new positive coronavirus cases continues to rise in area counties as well, as well as active cases.  Brookings County currently has 249 active COVID-19 cases, McCook County has 56, and Moody County has 51 active cases.  There are 48 active cases in Miner County as of Thursday, and 40 in Kingsbury County.
