One more COVID-19 death was reported in the state on Thursday.  There have been a total of 1939 virus-related deaths in the state since the start of the pandemic. 

The state Department of Health Thursday reported just more than 220 new positive COVID-19 cases.  The number of people hospitalized increased to 100, while the number of active cases dropped to just below 25-hundred.

Lake County reported two new positive coronavirus cases and four recovered cases, for a total now of 49 active cases.  

Kingsbury County had 57 active COVID-19 cases, McCook County-14, Moody County reported five active cases and Miner County had four.  Brookings County reported 154 active cases as of Thursday.

Also as of yesterday, the state Department of Health reported that close to 50-percent of the state’s population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while a third of the population had completed their vaccination series.
