Three COVID-19 deaths reported Friday; active cases and hospitalizations decrease

Three more COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state on Friday.  The state Department of Health is not providing daily COVID-19 updates now on Saturdays or Sundays.  In information released Friday, the state reported 76 new positive COVID-19 cases.  The number of active cases and people hospitalized because of the virus decreased.

Lake County reported two additional recovered cases as of Friday and no new positive cases, bringing the county’s number of active cases down to 11.  All other area counties reported steady active COVID-19 cases or slight decreases.

Also as of Friday, 55-percent of the state’s eligible population had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 49-percent had completed their vaccination series.
