State surpasses 2,000 COVID-19 deaths
More than two-thousand people in the state now have died with COVID-19. An additional seven COVID-19 deaths were reported Thursday by the state Department of Health, putting the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic at 2001.
Another 55 new positive COVID-19 cases were also reported yesterday. Active cases decreased to 634 and the number of people hospitalized because of the virus increased some to 57.
Lake County reported two new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, increasing the number of active cases in the county to thirteen.
Besides Brookings County with 21 active cases currently, all other area counties’ number of active COVID-19 cases remained in the single digits as of Thursday.
