State reports two COVID-19 deaths; Lake County has three new positive cases
Two more people in the state have died with COVID-19. As of Monday, the state Department of Health reported an overall total of 1993 deaths since the start of the pandemic. The state also reported 42 new positive COVID-19 cases Monday. The number of active cases in the state decreased some to just more than 800, while the number of people hospitalized increased to 71.
Lake County reported three new positive COVID-19 cases on Monday. With no new recovered cases in the county, this puts the number of active cases in Lake County now at ten. The county moved back into the moderate community spread category as of Monday.
Moody and Brookings counties are also listed as having moderate community spread. Moody County currently has eleven active cases, and Brookings County has 24. Elsewhere in the area, McCook, Miner, and Kingsbury counties are in the minimal community spread category as they all report active cases below five as of Monday.
