Three more people in the state have died from COVID-19.  The state Department of Health Friday reports 81 total deaths from the virus.  

The state is also reporting an additional 49 new positive COVID-19 cases, bringing the state’s total to 6158.  Of those cases, 801 of them are active cases and 95 people are hospitalized as of Friday.  

Lake County remains at 17 total cases at this time, with twelve of them reported as recovered and one death.  That means Lake County’s active cases remain at four currently, and there have been 584 negative tests.  Lake County is listed by the state as having “minimal to moderate” community spread of the virus, and that there have been two people “ever hospitalized”.

Area counties with active cases as of Friday include Brookings County with 17 active cases currently, Miner and Moody counties each with two active cases, and McCook County with one active case.
