State reports one additional death and 156 new positive COVID-19 cases since Friday

The number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state increased by more than 150 over the weekend.  As of Sunday, the state Department of Health reports a total of just less than 59-hundred positive COVID-19 cases in the state.  One additional death was reported over the weekend as well – a resident of Pennington County – bringing the state’s total number of deaths to 75.  

There are currently 924 active coronavirus cases, and 87 people are hospitalized because of the virus. 

Lake County has two active cases currently.  The county has had fourteen total positive COVID-19 cases, with eleven of them recovered and one death.  There have been 526 negative tests in Lake County. 

In the area, Moody County currently has three active coronavirus cases as of Sunday, and Kingsbury and McCook counties each have two.  Miner County has one active case, and Brookings County now has ten active COVID-19 cases.
