State reports five COVID-19 deaths Tuesday
The state Department of Health reports Tuesday that five more people in the state have died from COVID-19. All of the deaths are reported in Minnehaha County, bringing that county’s total number of virus-related deaths to 34 and the state’s total to 39.
The state is reporting 49 new positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, and an increase of more than one-hundred in the number of people who have recovered from the virus. The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the state Tuesday is 1315 and 74 people are currently hospitalized. Â
Active cases in our area, according to data from the state Department of Health, include one in Lake County, with 173 negative tests; one in McCook County, and eight active cases currently in Moody County. Â
