State reports 79 new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday

The state Department of Health reports 79 new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the state’s overall total to 7242.  Of these cases, 864 of them are currently active, and 64 people are hospitalized.  No new COVID-19 related deaths were reported Wednesday.  So far, 98 people in the state have died from COVID-19.

One more Lake County resident has been listed as recovered from COVID-19 in information released Wednesday.  This now puts the number of active COVID-19 cases in Lake County at two at this time.  There have been 693 negative tests in the county.

Elsewhere, McCook County remains at five active cases, and Moody and Miner counties each at four.  Brookings County currently has 24 active COVID-19 cases.
