State receives shipment of more supplies to help medical professionals during COVID-19 outbreak

The state reported seven more positive COVID-19 cases in the state on Tuesday, putting the state’s total at 108. One of those includes a new positive case in our area in Kingsbury County.  Positive COVID-19 cases are now being reported in 30 counties in South Dakota, and community spread has been identified in half of those counties.  

Of the 108 total positive cases, there has been one death, twelve people who have been hospitalized with the virus, and 44 who have now recovered from it.

Governor Kristi Noem provided an update on the state’s work with the coronavirus on Tuesday.  

Governor Noem also said Tuesday that there has been some good news as far as supplies and testing in the state.

State Secretary of Health Kim Malsam-Rysdon explained more of what supplies were received.
