State government offices closed in portions of state; open in Lake and surrounding counties

Governor Kristi Noem is again ordering state government offices to be closed in a good portion of the state today.

Counties where state offices will be open today include Brookings, Lake, Miner, and Moody counties.  This is in addition to the ten counties in the southeastern part of the state where offices were open yesterday as well.  There will also be some counties in western South Dakota where state offices will be open today.

Noem said that even though offices are open in these counties, state employees are encouraged to be safe and work remotely if necessary.  While executive branch offices in the rest of the state will be closed, employees will be working remotely.  Noem said that technology allows state workers to continue doing their jobs.

Again, road condition information can be found by visiting sd511.org or by using the state Department of Transportation’s 511 mobile app.

Local and area closings and weather related announcements can be found on our website at amazingmadison.com.
